3. How do you approach color selection? This is vital. An artist must understand not just what the pigment looks like in the bottle, but how it will heal under your specific skin tone and how it will age over time. If they cannot explain color theory to you, they should not be mixing your pigment.

4. Can I see healed results, not only fresh work? Fresh permanent makeup always looks sharp, bright, and slightly darker than the final result. The true test of an artist's skill is how the work looks six months or a year later. Look for healed photos that show crisp strokes and true color.

5. What does your consultation process look like? No needle should ever touch your skin before a thorough, unhurried consultation. We must discuss your goals, your medical history, and map the design together. If an artist rushes you to the chair, leave.

6. What hygiene standards do you follow? The studio should be immaculate, using only single-use, sterile, disposable needles and high-quality, reputable pigments. Never compromise on safety.

7. Is a perfecting session included? Permanent makeup is a two-step process. A perfecting session (often called a touch-up) 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment is essential to address any areas where pigment didn't retain perfectly and to refine the final shade.
